Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Nigerian Newspapers:
1. Report says two suicide bombers Sunday night detonated improvise explosives devices strapped to their body, killing themselves and injuring some members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF at the entrance of Muna Garage in Maiduguri.The bomb explosions occurred at about 8.20pm.
2. The Federal Government has said it will be justified if the funds in the accounts without BVN are forfeited. The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, Okoi Obono-Obla, while reacting to the development said the number of accounts yet to be linked remain alarming.

3. A popular Roman Catholic priest who was kidnapped last year, Fr. Gospel Inalegwu, has resigned rom priesthood. The priest who was serving in Kano has since moved out of the State. No specific reason has been given yet on why he took the decision.
4. Immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan has said that Nigeria’s many challenges would be surmounted if it could use some of the recommendations of the National Conference held under his government. According to him, the conference remains the best Nigeria ever had as a nation.
5. President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday returned to Nigeria after a successful four-day working visit to Ankara and Istanbul in Turkey.
The President landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 4.05p.m.
6. Officials on Sunday recovered a body believed to be that of 40-year old, Oluseyi who allegedly jumped off the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge into the Lagos lagoon 3 days ago. The body was recovered from the lagoon by coordinated efforts of officials of the LASEMA, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) Marine Police and handed over to the State Environmental Monitoring Unit (SEHMU).
7. Two persons were reported killed at the weekend following a clash between the police and a vehicle driver at Tarzan junction, Nkpor, along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway in Onitsha, Anambra state. Report says that the driver’s refusal to stop as directed by the police, led to his being pursued by the police team and was later shot after a disagreement that ensued when he was arrested. The development caused further chaos in the area.
8. The European Union (EU) has denied favouring President Muhammadu Buhari above other candidates during the 2015 Presidential Elections in Nigeria. Santiago Fisas, former Chief Observer of the 2015 EU Election Observation Mission (EU EOM), and member of the European Parliament, spoke in Abuja on Sunday while making clarification on EU assessment of the polls, saying the international community was not in favour of any candidate above others.
9. The Federal Government has replied Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s application seeking to withdraw as one of the sureties for the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, saying the application was coming very late.. The government insisted that Kanu was in his custody and he had to produce him for the continuation of his trial.
10. Video of a man identified as Abubakar Idris, whose daughter died as a result of unpaid salaries has now gone viral. The man believed to a worker in Kogi State civil service had in the one minute, two seconds video, lamented being owed 10-month salary. In the video, Mr Idris confirmed that he could not carry his daughter quickly for medical attention since he could not afford hospital bill.
